The friendliest hotel I've stayed at during New Zealand Stayed here for roughly a week, super friendly atmosphere, amazing food - definitely recommend the homemade pizzas!
Super comfy beds with everything you need inside (TV, heater, coffee and breakfast food). Would recommend to stay here if you are passing through. 5 stars

Great service! We arrived at the Lumsden Hotel wet and cold after tough weather on the "Round the Mountains" cycle trail when a promised booking didn't work out. Janel moved heaven and earth to find an alternative for us, meanwhile keeping us warm and dry, fed us with free cups of tea and a meal. Well done!

The restaurant attached to the bar has a fantastic ever changing menu. The week we went they were serving a delightful range of tapas. A highlight for me was the Rabo de Toro, an incredible beef stew. If you get a chance to dine here, do your taste buds a favour and treat yourself.
